For this act of defiance, Zeus condemned Prometheus to eternal punishment — chained to a rock, his liver devoured each day, only to regenerate and suffer again. Yet Prometheus never regretted his gift. The sacrifice was the point. Progress demands courage, and courage demands sacrifice.
